Pediatric Occupational Therapy

ABOUT

Sensational Life Therapy works with children ages 0-21 that have difficulty in school and/or at home. We work with children that have a difficult time with social interaction, participation in school,  sleeping, eating, playing, etc. SLT uses evidence based practices to provide individualized treatment plans for our patients. Your goals are our goals! We coach parents so that children can thrive in all environments and parents can feel empowered and confident.

We are so glad to have a great pediatric OT in town! Leon is 4 and he LOVES going to see Tara and looks forward to it every time. She sets the bar high enough to encourage progress, without pushing him so hard that he shuts down. I highly recommend Sensational Life Therapy! 😊

MORE ABOUT ME

What to expect when you bring your child to Sensational Life Therapy

Years of Experience

I have 6 years of pediatric occuptional therapy experience and education. I have experience working with children of all ages and diagnoses.
Having experience in school settings, SLT is educated on the IEP process and can collaborate with teachers to best help your child.
Along with schools, SLT has past experience working in the home as well as outpatient environments. This has increased our ability to coach parents and integrate the family's involvement in interventions.

Best Practice Approaches

I use only best practices when making decisions about your child's care.
I know how to foster and grow your child’s “just right balance” between frustration and fun.
I utilize evidenced based approaches and individualized treatment plans. Occupational therapy (OT) is a therapy unlike any other, because OT considers the physical and functional needs of your child along with addressing their emotions and overall well-being.

Love of Learning

I have formal education in cognitive-behavioral theories, biomechanical approaches, motor control and learning theories, neuromuscular and neurodevelopmental principles, sensory integration, fine motor skills, visual-motor training, cognitive-behavioral strategies and psychology principles. Along with my formal training through my masters degree, I have continued my education to keep providing best approaches. I have been trained with vision therapy, reflex integration therapy, feeding therapy, and have special education on Autism and ADHD.
